— about us
A house for Milan's Kurdish community.
We are a social-promotion association that brings the culture, thought and solidarity of the Kurdish people into the heart of Milan — open to anyone who wants to learn, take part, build.
— our manifesto
Why we are here.
We believe in a democratic, confederal, libertarian and feminist society — and here, in Milan, we build it every day.
ACDK Milano was born from the encounter between the Kurdish community and the city of Milan. We are women and men who have chosen not to let our language, our dance, our stories die — but also not to keep them inside a closed circle. We bring them out, into the streets, into books, into open evenings.
Our reference point is the thought of democratic confederalism: local self-government, ecology, women's liberation. It is not abstract ideology — it is a way of being together that we try to live in our space at Viale Monza 255.
Whoever walks through these doors — Kurdish, Italian, of any origin — becomes part of this collective experiment. We don't ask where you come from. We ask what you want to build.
— our values
Three principles that guide every choice we make.
Democratic confederalism
Local self-government, decisions from below, radical pluralism. We don't wait for the State — we build here.
Women's liberation
Women's liberation is the liberation of society. No exceptions. No compromises.
Social ecology
Land, community and culture are one single weave. To defend one is to defend them all.
